Howdy! My name is Bailey Culver. I’m a storyteller with a soft spot for misfits.

I create comics for teen and adult audiences. My young adult stories explore identity through a youth counter-cultural lens. I love creating lush Gothics with western or horror elements for mature audiences. I’m also a huge classic lit nerd interested in adapting works such as Dante’s Divine ComedyWatership Down, and We Have Always Lived in the Castle.

Read my current comic, Enter The Mothbaby exclusively on my newsletter, The Cattle Call.  Enter The Mothbaby follows the misadventures of Mothman's anxiety filled son as he navigates the world of Kindergarten.

In my illustration work, my favorite subjects are bugs, cowboys, 60s mod, and punks. But I honestly love everything strange and retro. As a printmaker, I love the graphic imagery and intimacy of hand-to-ink-to-paper. Most of my printmaking contributes to my fibers practice which consists of soft sculpture, latch hook rugs, and doll making.

I studied illustration at Syracuse University to specialize in sequential art and printmaking. During my schooling, I received the June Thomson Reigner Endowment Scholarship gifted to the top senior illustration/painting student and the Merion Behr Award for a deserving printmaking student.

When I’m not working, you can find me playing point-and-click adventure games, causing chaos in Dungeons and Dragons, and hunting for 80s new wave records at my local flea market.
